On December 18th, 1985, Boon Rawd introduced "Singha Gold" light beer. A light beer is basically a lager, made by reducing the amount of fermented barley malt and adding extra enzymes during the brewing process. This produces fewer carbohydrates and less alcohol. As a result, Singha Gold appeals to the weight conscious, the luncheon drinker and the younger consumer.
