Fire-Bellied Toad is a 5.0% pale ale that exhibits the full aroma, flavour and bitterness characteristics of a single variety of English hop, Phoenix. This golden-brown beer has a sweet, floral aroma and a slightly sweet initial flavour that is followed by a lasting hop flavour and bitterness. This is balanced by the use of English Marris Otter pale malt, with the addition of wheat malt and crystal malt to provide extra flavour and colour. This bottled beer is based on the cask-conditioned beer of the same name, which won a silver award at the Beauty of English Hops competition in 1997.
