Luettje Lagen - sent 6 times
Gilde Brauerei
Brewed since 1526 in Germany
2.8 % alc. vol.
Luettje Lagen is a specialty of Hannover (Northern Germany). The dark beer (2.8% alc.) is ALWAYS drunk in connection with a shot of Korn (a special grain schnaps, 32% alc.) that is served in a separate shot glass. You have to grab both glasses with the same hand (which is kind of tricky) and pour them down your thirsty throat at the same time, so they get mixed inside your mouth.
For a little movie how it's done look here: http://www.luettje-lage.de (click on the guy with the hat and then on one of the links).

Luettje Lagen is a seasonal beer that is usually consumed in large amounts at the annual Hannover Schuetzenfest (www.schuetzenfest-hannover.de).

If you ever get there, just go to one of the booths, order "Ein Meter Luettje Lagen, bitte" and they will serve you 11 of these delicious refreshments on a tray.

Unfortunately, genuine Luettje Lagen beer is hard to find in stores, but the special glasses (plus a sample of beer and Korn) can be ordered here (I never tried this myself, though): www.bruchmeister.de/shop/seiten/ll_set.htm
this beer has the current rating
