Naughty Nellie\'s Ale - sent 8 times
Pike Brewery Company
Brewed since ? in United States of America
? alc. vol.
A salute to Nellie Curtis, who once ran an infamous "bawdy house" at our original brewery location. During World War II, Nellie took over a lease on the Outlook Hotel at the foot of Pike Street and renamed it the "LaSalle," possibly after the General Motors' luxury automobile. Her attempts at discretion were thwarted by as many as 1,000 sailors lining up at the door for a "ride." Nellie kept the motor running for nearly a decade before selling the hotel to new owners who, to the disappointment of many a lonely mariner, turned it into a legitimate hotel.

Taste:
A mildly hopped beer with a complex malt character, and a soft creamy head. Soft and fruity with light yeast esters of apricot and orange. It is a refreshing and crisp session beer, with just enough hops to balance and round out the sweetness of the malt.
