Leffe Blonde - sent 84 times

Abbaye de Leffe (Anheuser-Busch InBev)

Brewed since 1240 in Belgium

6.6 % alc. vol.

Over the centuries, monasteries across Europe have built a unique reputation for patiently developing unique drinks using the very best of local climate, soils, crops and skills. Naturally, in Belgium, the monasteries devoted their skills to brewing beer.

Leffe, our original abbey beer, traces its origins back to the Abbey Notre Dame de Leffe, founded in 1152 on the river Meuse in the province of Namur. It was here, sheltered in this calm valley, that the original recipe for Leffe was conceived.

At that period of our history, abbeys and monasteries provided shelter, food and refreshment to passing travelers and pilgrims alike. Being entirely self-sufficient, the Norbertine monks at Leffe hand-crafted their own beer, brewed naturally from the finest local ingredients with an almost religious dedication.
