Fregatten Jylland (Frigate of Jutland) - sent 36 times
Thor
Brewed since 1994 in Denmark
7.7 % alc. vol.
Brewed since 1994 as a tribute to the "Frigate of Jutland". A certain amount of the sale goes to the preservation of this proud ship.
"Frigate of Jutland" was the last wooden frigate ever built in Denmark. It participated in the 'battle of Helgoland' in 1864, only 4 years after it first set sail, ensuring victory for the Danish fleet. In 1874 it became King Christian the 9th.'s private ship. Over the years more than 7000 men and 600 officers have lived and worked aboard. After it went out of service in 1925 it was turned into a 'summer camp-ship' and more than 200.000 children spent their vacation aboard, until it all ended in 1950. In 1960 "Frigate of Jutland" was brought to Ebeltoft to be restored. Today the ship works as a museum in Ebeltoft. The wooden frigate "Frigate of Jutland" is the last of its kind in the whole world.

The beer is dark and strong, with a very special flavour - almost like an old ship. You can practically taste the rope, the wood, tar and gun powder - another feature to honour the "Frigate of Jutland".

A very powerful companion on an evening with old friends!
