Svyturys
Brewed since 1980 in Lithuania
5.0 % alc. vol.
ORIGINALUSIS is light, 0.5% volume, medium dark beer with the colour of red amber. It is made from malt, caramel malt, hops, beer yeast and fresh water according to the original recipe of seacoast brewers.

ORIGINALUSIS became the most popular in the Lowland because of it’s sweetish caramel taste, rich aroma and exceptional bitterness of hops that perfectly match. It is available in 0.5 litre bottles and is sold in Klaipėda region only.

The fans of ORIGINALUSIS very often ask Å VYTURYS brewers what is this caramel malt and is it related to caramel sweets?

You will be surprised that caramel malt is produced the same way as the ordinary one: selective barleys are couched in special conditions, so as many as possible necessary materials are extracted. Barley for caramel malt is dried in high temperature that reaches even 200C degrees. During the drying process grain gains the colour of red amber and the sugar it contains turns into caramel. This is where the name of this beer comes from.

Caramel malt enriches beer with exceptional sweetish taste and original aroma. Well matured beer made of caramel malt has a rich aroma of bread and even some wine flavouring.
