Old Brown Dog - sent 7 times

Smuttynose Brewery

Brewed since 1988 in United States of America

5.7 % alc. vol.

Old Brown Dog has been cited as a classic example of the "American Brown Ale" style of beer. Compared to a typical English Brown Ale, Old Brown Dog is fuller-bodied and more strongly hopped.
Old Brown Dog has been around for many years. It was first brewed in 1988 at the Northampton Brewery. In 1989 it won a silver medal in its category at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. Old Brown Dog has also been served at the Portsmouth Brewery since 1991. Turbodog, a popular brown ale brewed in Louisiana by Abita Springs Brewing Company, is a direct descendant of our dog.
For years now, "the Dog" has been the best known beer at the Portsmouth and Northampton Breweries. Now, after years of very limited availability, Old Brown Dog is finally in bottles and on draft. Look for it in a store or restaurant near you.
