Easy Street Wheat, our unfiltered American style wheat beer, was first brewed in the spring of 1991 as a one-time specialty brew. We already had a filtered wheat beer called Heartland Wheat on the market. The Heartland was light and crisp and sold reasonably well. We felt an unfiltered wheat was too sophisticated for the mass market, and figured only truly educated connoisseurs would appreciate it. We were wrong. As soon as Easy Street Wheat became available, our Heartland sales started dropping. We soon realized we couldn't support production of two wheat Beers and had to drop the slower seller. Heartland was put to rest.
Bittering Hops: Cascade
Brewer Malts: Wheat malt, Honey malt, 2-row barley malt,
Crystal malt, Munich malt
Finishing Hops: Tetnanger, Saaz
Yeast: Top fermenting Beer yeast
